About the Event

Back by popular demand, this ride is a great introduction to big Mountain Rides. Its high point is Clachnaben, the iconic  granite Tor that stands above Glen Dye. You will have seen that we have scouted out routes in the area to find a real high mountain experience. Clachnaben is 580m high, only about half the height we would hope to get to on our Cairngorm Plateau rides but it has all the features to provides a good introduction to the scale and style of riding required on a big mountain day.

We'd like to invite you on this introduction, as a build up to a full mountain day in the central Cairngomrs. This will be a full mornings ride, with 800m of climbing on steep tracks, and rocky, steep and loose descents, as well as the sweetest winding single track. There is no rush, so whatever your ability and fitness this is a good test to see if you can move on to bigger things over the summer.
