I am a geologist that came to the northeast of Scotland to work in the oil and gas industry. Based in Aberdeen, I have explored the crags, glens and trails of the Cairngorms and Royal Deeside. Over the years, I have learnt more and more of the geology, geography and history of the area.

From school days I have enjoyed a good adventure. That normally meant on my bike, however, I’ll sneak in some climbing, snowboarding and surfing. I started out on the road doing trips in the UK and Europe. Then I got a full suspension mountain bike - the perfect adventure vehicle.

I qualified as a Level III mountain bike leader and cycling coach through the British Cycling scheme and lead groups on the hills, natural trails and trail centres. I help out every week at a youth mountain biking club on Deeside and other community groups.
I’m keen to get more people onto bikes and to share adventures within every riders  ability.
