I was really impressed by how Mike ran the session and got all three of us riding and having fun at a suitable level,  we all felt a bit of challenge and improvement. The bikes were great and the location lovely too. We all really enjoyed ourselves.

A great afternoon spent mountain biking in Kirkhill Forest. My 10yr old loved it. We are both beginners but Mike’s instruction is clear and succinct and we felt we learned loads. He is also very encouraging and positive. We particularly enjoyed going downhill on the bike trail.

CAN YOU DO IT?

This ride will be designed to suit your range of fitness and experience . You do need to be able to ride a bike, but you do not need any experience and definitely do not need to be a mountain biker.

We recommend that all riders are over 11 years old, and over 4'11" (140cm) tall. However, please discuss this with us, because riding isn't about height or age.

The Macdui Bike Adventures Guide will give you advice, show you trails that suit you and judge what you can ride safely.

All you need to do is give as much information on the fitness, experience and preferences of your group to your guide before the day of your ride, and they will match the route to you.

WHAT TO BRING

There is no special equipment required for this ride. Macdui Bike Adventures will bring bikes and helmets for you. We recommend you wear comfortable, sports or outdoor clothes. Avoid trouser legs that may get caught up in the pedals.

It is always a good idea to have a spare jacket with you, bring a drink and a snack, in a small rucksack, and your guide can carry small items for you.

For a full view of mountain biking equipment have a look at our be prepared page.

Your guide will be in touch before the day of the ride to let you know the weather forecast and see what you would like to work on.
