A fantastic thing to do with the boys. Great equipment, just the right pace. And very professional. Thanks.

Spent a long weekend in Aberdeenshire with my 13 yr old son. Mike”s expert guiding and understanding of both our riding skills made for a unforgettable life experience.

ITINERARY
Tours leave at either 9.30 in the morning or 2.30 in the afternoon and we'll be out for about 3 hours.
This bike adventure will leave from, or close to, your accommodation. We will set up the bikes for you, check equipment, give you some riding advice and then head out on to the trail.
Every route is curated to suit your family and designed to match your abilities. We will take the estate tracks and trails up the glens, through the ancient forests, passing bothies and castles, passing lochs and crossing over burns.
BIKES & EQUIPMENT
Macdui Bike Adventures provides modern, high specification mountain bikes. They have suspension forks and rear suspension, dropper seat posts, low gear ratios and off-road tyres perfect for the terrain we'll cover.
Please fill out the bike sizing questions in the booking form to ensure you have that we fit you with the perfect size bike. The minimum rider height is 4' 11" (150 cm).
Macdui Bike Adventures provides helmets and gloves. Your guide will carry all the spares and tools required to keep the group on the move.
CAN YOU DO IT?
This ride will be designed to suit the range of fitness and experience in your family. You do need to be able to ride a bike, but you do not need any experience and definitely do not need to be a mountain biker.
We recommend that all riders are over 11 years old, and over 4'11" (140cm) tall. However, please discuss this with us, because riding isn't about height or age.
The Macdui Bike Adventures Guide will give you advice, show you trails that suit you and judge what you can ride safely.
All you need to do is give as much information on the fitness, experience and preferences of your group to your guide before the day of your ride, and they will match the route to you.
WHAT TO BRING
There is no special equipment required for this ride. Macdui Bike Adventures will bring bikes and helmets for you. We recommend you wear comfortable, sports or outdoor clothes. Avoid trouser legs that may get caught up in the pedals.
It is always a good idea to have a spare jacket with you, bring a drink and a snack, in a small rucksack, and your guide can carry small items for you.
For a full view of mountain biking equipment have a look at our be prepared page.
Your guide will be in touch before the day of the ride to let you know the weather forecast any other kit you will need for activities along the way - may be a picnic on a crag or a river swim.
GUIDE
Your Macdui Bike Adventures Guide has lived and worked in Aberdeenshire for years. They ride this area all year round.
They are qualified to British Cycling and Scottish Cycling Level 3 Mountain leader and have Outdoor First Aid qualifications.
